Founding Attorney

In 2022, he accepted a Supervisory Immigration Services Officer position and became much more involved with the inner workings of the agency. During this time, he was heavily involved in the important humanitarian work of the agency, managing the parole-based work permits for the entire agency. This included presentations to and engagements with senior leadership at the agency, including former Director Ur Jaddou. He received numerous awards as a result, including the DHS Secretary’s Award for Outstanding Team for his work on Streamline Case Processing for USCIS and a Quality Step Increase, given to an extremely small percentage of the top producing managers in the agency.

A second generation American married to a first generation American, immigration is a deeply meaningful part of his life. He attended and graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law in 2010 and continues to call Kansas City, Missouri home along with his wife and their two children.

Attorney Mike Watkins began his career with USCIS in 2015 at the National Benefits Center as an Immigration Services Officer. His next 7 years were spent adjudicating and working directly on I-485s, I-131s, I-765s, I-140s, and I-290bs. He spent considerable time in the customer service division of the office, learning the ins-and-outs of every forms’ processing requirements. From mentoring over a dozen new officers to helping draft complicated, agency-wide policy documents and answering urgent expedite requests from agency leadership, there’s no part of the immigration process with these forms he’s not familiar with.

The Firm

Our firm began operating in September, 2025 with a commitment to focus on quality and not volume. The attorney does not have support staff or associates and will be your ACTUAL attorney throughout your case. We pride ourselves on accessibility and “de-mystifying” the process of applying for benefits through USCIS. This means that you have a dedicated and knowledgeable advocate to guide you through whatever process you are navigating with the Agency.

We also encourage our clients to be active participants in their case. We are not a “hands-off” type of firm and like our clients to ask questions and provide their own, unique perspectives as we feel this makes your case even stronger.

As our firm balances individual, quality representation for existing clients and the needs of new clients, there may be occasions where we must decline new representation on a client’s case. We do this not on the merits necessarily, but on the resource constraints we operate under. We may also be able to offer a realistic timeline for future representation to assist our clients in deciding their next steps.
